Matthew Hendy
Matthew formed Fort Union to provide its partners and investors the ability to capitalize on the current disruption in retail real estate as well as to tackle new projects across multiple asset classes. Prior to Fort Union, Matthew worked for almost 14 years at Regency Centers where he was VP Market Officer, based out of the Chicago Office. Matthew’s responsibilities included overseeing all business in their Upper Midwest portfolio, comprising of 16 assets ($750M in market value) throughout Chicagoland and Minnesota. Matthew was also responsible helping to lead the development program at Regency Centers for the middle portion of the country, and in this role helped to successfully completed over $500 million worth of developments, redevelopments and off-market acquisitions. Matthew served on Regency Center’s Ethics and Compliance Committee for over 5 years, is an active member of ICSC and Licensed Managing Broker in IL.
Matthew earned a degree in Finance from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. He started his career as a broker at Mid-America Real Estate specializing in site selection for national and local restaurants.
Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife and their three daughters, reading, traveling, and hiking.
