Matt Hendy founded Fort Union to pursue opportunities in real estate development and value-add investing across multiple asset classes. He leads the firm’s strategy, oversees day-to-day operations, and sources new investment opportunities.
Prior to founding Fort Union, Matt spent nearly fourteen years at Regency Centers, where he served as Vice President and Market Officer based in Chicago. In that role, he oversaw the Upper Midwest portfolio comprising more than 4 million square feet of retail assets and helped lead the development program for the Midwest region. During his tenure, Matt helped complete more than $500 million in development, redevelopment, and off-market acquisitions.
Matt earned a degree in Finance from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters, traveling, reading, golfing, skiing, music, and hiking.
